What could you do less of?
I’m unimpressed with the behaviour of Northern Germans, in particular, the Saxony-Anhalt region. https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/far-right-coded-clothing-germany-9.7323799 . CBC posted an article about it. The article affected TS enough that she modified her running shoes!

I get frustrated by the persistence of these anti-immigrant, racist political movements. They exist here on the North Bruce Peninsula too — I see their filth on the Facebook comments of various channels. I click on “snooze person XYZ for 30 days” or “hide comments” on those offender’s names. If I can game the Facebook algorithms, that is good for me.

SEPTEMBER 1ST ROCK FARM REPORT.
Today’s the first day of September, 2026. We made a taxing road trip to the big city yesterday and are recovering from its side effects (about 9 hours of driving was necessary to visit friends in Scarborough). I don’t regret visiting them. I was able to purchase clothing that fit me (I wear holes through my clothing, trying to keep up with my spouse as she’s hefting boulders to-and-fro). We picked up a pizza peel (a wood slider that helps one move a pizza to/from the oven). We even stocked up on frozen specialty foods that one simply cannot acquire here on the North Bruce Peninsula.
Cooks Heating & Plumbing were here to attempt repairs on our electrical room’s air conditioner (the room’s air temperature must remain above freezing and below thermal shut-down to keep the batteries, inverters, PV-panel-controllers, and [wood boiler] fuel pellets viable). RM got the unit running properly… and then the thermostats starting sending error messages. The thermostat’s cabling had abrasions to it from nearby vibrating condensers (and I’m certain the fucking rodents didn’t help the situation). So, it’s another parts’ order to Olimpia USA and another site visit for us. As long as the costs are less than a replacement heat-pump, we keep at the repairs.
Here is a visual update of TS’ efforts on our septic system’s dispersal field (what used to be called a leach-field). The boulders that are being removed from the topsoil is embarrassing (rocks are non porous, right. Right?!). I’ve included an image of our Lucifer-Lettuce and raw materials for catnip mouse toys.

August 28th was our wedding anniversary. We’ve been together for 37 years. We took a wonderful roadtrip all about the Checkerboard (what the locals call this part of South-Central Ontario).

SEPTEMBER 2ND ROCK FARM REPORT – ADDENDUM!
We had to cancel our Tobermory Marketplace (in the harbour) sales’ event. There was a shit-tonne of rain last night, heavy wind, and lightning strikes overnight. It’s stupid humid outside and that can negatively affect our dog cookie’s shelf-life. Both TS and I woke up several times overnight to the multiple lightning flashes (I had recurring nightmares of being a high school teacher in a coliseum that had melting overhead markers, shape-shifting lesson plans, trip hazard-prone flooring, and trying to keep track of >1000 teenagers). Yeahhhhhh, fuck no. We’ll try doing the market at week’s end in Owen Sound… and try Tobermory again next Wednesday.
I’ve put an order in for my own business sign. It’ll be 40 cm by 40 cm, black ink, blue lined background, 4 brass eyelets, on rigid plastic. Expect to see it posted on my plexiglass shield as I sharpen and mess around with knives at local markets (with an appropriate add-on to our business liability insurance).
