How to lose track of time? Why… trolling around in Wikipedia. If I want ways to burn away time, that’s a silly way to do it. When I want to have a more meaningful and rewarding activity, that’d be messing around on our woodlot. And whittling. I get a lot of joy turning a metre long green branch into a pile of chips. And rotating through a bunch of cutlery, appreciating each blade’s geometry. Oh, and sharpening. I can get fixated on sharpening. Surprisingly, I can also lose myself with splitting firewood… present soft-tissue injuries notwithstanding!
