This question screams GOTCHA… sigh. Fortunately, WikiVoyage is a thing.

Daily writing prompt
What place in the world do you never want to visit? Why?

As a white, European middle-aged man I scream privilege — and I just have to deal with it. If I wanted, I can visit any part of the world if I spend the money and get onto a armoured tour bus (with the right people & agencies paid off). So, I won’t travel abroad. It just doesn’t interest me. Now virtually, all bets are off! Using Google Maps, Wikivoyage, Lonely Planet, TripAdvisor, or hell… Wikipedia… I can virtually visit anywhere in my solar system! It might sound hokey, but when I meditate I can get into a fugue state where I can be everywhere and nowhere. When I’m in the right headspace, my woodlot’s big enough for me.

Construction site update

It’s an active site! The straw-bale teams are preparing the walls (and saving the Tyvek wrap for reuse [Ideas, anyone?]). The tradespeople have roughed in the main systems. And at the end of April 2024, the excavator returns to prepare the grounds for photovoltaic (PV) panel arrays. Our condominium sale is progressing nicely. TS is ramping up dog biscuit production. I’m learning how to maintain 2 high-performance chainsaws while cutting ironwood, oak, maple, and ash trees. HARD WOOD PLAYS HOLY HELL ON BLADES. TS & I won’t waste root balls nor slash piles (slash piles are what pre-enlightened foresters used to call undesirable brush). It must be said — when you visit our site, you will see sustainable silviculture, permaculture, aquaponics, agriculture, botany, and animal stewardship. As the York Region Police say, “deeds speak“.
