I know this isn’t exactly the same as stage acting. Or addressing a crowd of >100 peers. The closest I had was talking in front of the school-work staff… and that was about 80 different peers. Most were politely listening to me. The rest, were distracted with their devices. Oh staff meetings. I do NOT miss you. Not 1 bit.
So, how slow are rural internet service providers anyway?
In a word. Slow. I have no idea how students were able to tele-commute during the 2019-21 pandemic. At least my municipality (North Bruce Peninsula) is laying fibre optic cable… slowly across all the major throughfares. That will take a couple more years to get fully online.
