How have you adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic?
Let’s rattle ‘em off!
Not stepping back into the classroom! It’s time for PN to monetize activities that he enjoys. One of the best decisions he made was take early retirement and move to a cheaper living space. Nurture my online persona.
Telecommuting. Replace F2F informal meetings with video calls.
Social media maintenance. Monitor our online presence and censor our uploaded images (including removing metadata).
Raw ingredient and supply procurement. Grocery shopping and running errands have to be coordinated to reduce fuel costs. I keep more than 1 supplier handy.
DIY. Repurpose. Mending. Repairing. My desire to putter and tinker are now lucrative. If I want nice things, I had better repair it. 1 and done, eh.
Keeping strategic reserves of necessities. What will I do if I can’t afford gasoline? How long can we remain cut-off without suffering mental illness?
Rapid transit. Airline travel. I mask up.
Healthcare. Telehealth. Virtual doctors’ appointments. Seeking out remote monitoring options. TS and I have a family physician and health team in the GTA. I loathe to leave it and get on a waiting list (for years?!).
De-escalation training. Personal defence. Maintaining and generating cognitive resilience. Meditation. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The pandemic broke people — their ability to cope has plummeted.
