TS and I were able to work on our raised garden beds. One box was set up for whatever mint and rhubarb survives our rental patio’s hellscape. A fellow vendor from the Owen Sound Farmers Market dropped by to get a tour.

TS & PN positioned a box garden beside the hugelkultur W.I.P.
TS installed a sheet of cardboard under the box. Then sticks.
TS adds a layer of green matter to the box.
Several wheelbarrow loads of chipped mulch was stuffed into the gaps.
Testing phase! Straw added.
TS is drizzling manure on top of the straw & compost.
Cardboard + logs + rotten sticks + chipped hardwood + weeded aster + straw + manure

I purchased a DeWalt reciprocating saw from Owen Sound’s Canadian Tire yesterday. I was eager to use this saw, like an electric knife from the 1970-80s!

When I helped Zoltan The Adequate do some renovations, he whipped out a wired saw to remove studs. 2-by-4s? Nails? Horsehair-infused plaster? It sliced through it like a hawt knife through butter. It was niiiiiiiiiiiiice. I NEED & WANT ONE.

Ohhhhh yeah. Lemme at the wood waste!

I took it to the construction site, opened up a fresh pack of saw blades, re-opened the manual and followed its blade installation protocol (without any battery pack on the unit). This was the result:

That yellow paint is from the serrated blades’ anchor point.
It was assembled incorrectly. FFS.
It was NOT free-moving. Derailed.
I have the packaging, the receipt, and the willpower to get this phucking item replaced (click on the image for details).
