When I consider this phrase, I think about how my physical and emotional presence affects my surroundings. Emotionally, I want to acknowledge whatever feelings are bubbling away in my head, and use CBT strategies to (a) identify nagging thoughts that support the feeling; (b) alternative thoughts that can refute my feelings; (c) try to combine (a) and (b) into a more balanced thought; and, (d) try to determine how my feelings have changed… for better or worse. Of course, this mental gymnastics can rarely be done in the heat of the moment! For those situations, I “take five” and focus on (or count) my breathing. There’s meditation that can be done in all but the most dangerous of situations, no? I want to increase the frequencies of true “self-regulation” so as to promote harmony in my home.

And my meditation doesn’t have to be all cerebral! I can mow the (rental house) lawn. I can pick my way through the bush on my woodlot’s property lines. I can hand-buck logs (using my Swede saw and/or Japanese Silky GomBoy) and split them for firewood or as a base for hugelkultur.

I’m looking at the above WordPress writing prompt, and this YouTube episode struck me as oddly resonant. • extreme sensual, emotion. How does its perception and acceptability changes from 1 human (IRL) generation to the next generation. Cultural norms shift.
• interpretation of a dark fantasy novel into visual media (and its limits).
• An archetype (I.e., Slaanesh) who might become stagnant within a fictional universe.
• I need to check out Warhammer Crime Drama novels.
• Figurines that superficially illustrate the chaos-god in the role-playing game Warhammer40K. Some wags in the YouTube comments section suspect the vendor might release a new series of action-figures.
• The warrior-genetically-modified transhumanism (Astardes) cannot capture the chaos-god’s personality.
• Slaanesh is a difficult character in this fictional universe… to monetize… to allow to evolve. Games workshop might have painted themselves into a corner. No more figurines with little armoured goth-dudes shredding on an electric-guitar-weapon! Ha.

Edit 17:00 Sunday… The Other Stories. This is a UK-based series of horror or WTF tales. The audio production quality of this collection of tales is fantastic for a lowly MP3 files. This is adult fiction, tooth and claw. The following 21 minute gem is one of their tamer offerings. Imagine if David Attenborough narrated a late night TV show… like, say, The Twilight Zone. No babies were harmed in this fiction, and trespassers were unharmed. This tale, (95.1) What Does It Hide, provides skewed justification for one putting an in-law’s odd toy in a child’s room for protection against monsters.
