…in no particular order…
- Appalacian Spooky Hour. Sam Arthurs. There are some weeeeird stuff concocted up in TN, VA, KT, and NC (USA). Other channels: The Moonlit Road. Southern Gothic.
- Bedtime Stories. Not for children, eh. I’m a sucker for the narration style. And that outro (where they whisper the title is still thrilling to me [headphones]).
- Chilling Tales For Dark Nights. Horror fiction. I’m more partial to the first 100 episodes.
- Community Chickens Podcast. Zach Foley & Charlotte Brunin. Ogden Publications. The art of raising ducks and chickens!
- Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History. And … Addendum. These can be >5h extraveganzas. Mr. Carlin can be a bit of a gadfly, so take his opinions with a grain of salt.
- Dr. Creepen. Dr. Creepen’s Dungeon. “Doctor CreepVanPasta”. I enjoy this content provider so much, I support him a few dollars per month.
- My Noise dot Net. Dr. Ir.S. Pigeon. {{yes, that’s his real name… don’t judge}} This audio therapy helps me focus. His audio testing posts are useful for gearheads like me. I strongly recommend it (and I donate to MyNoise).
- Headspace. Radio Headspace. Headspace Studios. Ibid. This is a meditation suite, with both paid and free content. Some of the daily reflections are decidedly NOT flakey and woo. Blunt and zen!
- Escape Pod. This is an entire online community. Worth exploring. The narrations can be excellent. They have an active DISCORD channel.
- PseudoPod. Horror stories. Ibid.
- GraveYard Tales. Oh lordy. Adam Ballinger & Matt Rudolph. These 2 Southern Americans are a kooky duo. Their intro-jokes and 100% dad-esk. Their audio quality is quite good. I’m not always sure when they are spinning tall tales or being serious.
- The History Of Rome. Mike Duncan. “History has a tendancy to repeat itself”. Mr. Duncan made an engaging series. It’s a tight story with excellent research, with modern interpretations.
- Revolutions. Mike Duncan outlines some of the planet’s bloodiest clashes from the last 200 or so years. I purchased 2 of his books, The Storm Before The Storm and Hero Of Two Worlds.
- The Occasional Podcast. Brian Hunter. This is an audiophile and its associated equipment set of interviews. Note: Mr. Hunter’s podcast leads to the linked site.
- The Other Stories. I prefer the first 50 or so narrations. Its tales can be cruel.
- Under The Influence. Terry O’Reilly. The series also used to be called The Age Of Persuassion. It can also be heard on CBC Radio. It’s all about the history of marketing. A very slick production with healthy doses of humour.
