- Wikipedia, of course. I treat it like the worldwide edition of People Magazine + TMZ + Encyclopedia Galactica 🙂 . I like knowing that I can never view all the pages in my lifetime. For fun, TS will ask me how I got from Point Aye to Bee… and I show her!
- Wikivoyage. Ibid. I like viewing places that I know I can never visit.
- SCP Wiki. This universe of makebelieve is right up my alley. SECURE. CONTAIN. PROTECT. SCP-2000 is one of my favourite entries. Think of it as a CNTRL-ALT-DEL command for humanity. My favourite group of interest: The Wanderer’s Library (and its staff). And I want to give special mention to the Department of Tactical Theology!
- NPR.org ; It’s 1 of my 2 main news sources, when I want to doomscroll through current events. Revised: this NPR article hit a chord with me. Meditation. Mortality. It’s worth a read… and eventually a listen, no?
- CBC Online. 2 of 2 main news sources. I occasionally cringe at the journalism spewed from this entity, however, I take what I can get.
- Headfi dot org. This is an audiophile (or audiofool) site, catering to Hi-Fi. You might see me online as ScubaMan2017.
- Howtogeek. Their advertising model has become somewhat obnoxious recently (pop-ups… ads that follow ones cursor); however, this website is my primary go to site for all computer technology news. Their writing and linkages are vetted and updated… and that’s handy for superusers like me.
- Patreon. I support the following 3 content providers: Dr. Creepen (horror & freaky mood music); Mr. Carlson’s Lab (electrical engineer, based out of British Columbia who believes in colaborative learning); and, Bedtime Stories (weird fiction, urban myths, and an outro that can scare the bejeezus out of you at night… in the dark… with headphones).
- Pseudopod. When they nail it, they f**king do it in one bloody stroke. Their back catalogue is deep.
- YouTube. Who do I follow: Scott Bradlee, Sabaton, CreepsMcPasta, A Vox In The Void, AlternateHistoryHub, Ben & Lois Orford (knifemakers), Biographics, Biothermic (our future pellet boiler), Blondefire (S.T.A.L.K.E.R.), Cat Man Chris, DW News, Currawong, Diesel Creek (farmer and fabricator), Dr. Creepen, Dr. Creepen’s Dungeon, FilmComicsExplained, Quinn’s Ideas (takes a deep dive into science fiction [unique perspective]), and ZeFrank. He’s in a league all of his own (prefer his NSFW material… I never had the gonads to show it in my science class… and I regret that… ah well)… his episode about hummingbirds is epic. And don’t forget Inside the Head Of A Puffin!
